I have been UNSUCCESSFUL at requesting DOS disks from Ira Goldklang on his website .... does anyone know why

I need to get DOS disks for the Model 1, Model 3, Model 4,4GN/4D, 4P as well as SUPERUTILITY for such machines

Any help would be appreciated

If you need a lot of disks, you might want to invest in a tweener computer that can boot MSDOS and with either a mobo having floppy port or an add-in card for floppy support.

You can then use David Keil's emulator to make real floppy disks from disk images you can find on-line. Though Keil hasn't updated his emulator since about 2001, it is still great for this purpose. You could also look at information on Tim Mann's site where he has emulator and floppy disk software.

I would agree with the above. Since you have a number of machines, perhaps making your own with a PC would be the way to go. if you get as far as putting together a PC running Imagedisk (IMD) and a 5.25 360k floppy, I can provide you a number of IMD images for the model 3/4. I don't have a model 1 but i know someone who does so I can likely track those down as well.

As an aside, I had my TRS-80 Model 4 before I had a PC that could make disks and got a number of disks from Ira. Originally many of the disks didn't work for me since he uses a 1.2MB drive to make them which my drives didn't like. Eventually when i got a PC, i read in the disks with a 1.2 drive and rewrote then with a proper 360k drive to get them to work. Just a bit of warning that depending on how finicky your drives are, you might have similar issues with his disks.

I've mentioned before but there's a YouTube video by "Adrians Digital Basement" on how to image your own TRS-80 floppies on a PC.

I've used Imagedisk, too. Not so much for making floppies, as most of my images are DMK or DSK, but it is great for checking and aligning track 0. I had a number of old drives with either speed or track 0 issues, and with adjustment, they can interchange disks again.

If my internet was up, i'd be glad to assist you in the model 3,4,4p ect. I can't do much with Model 1 since I don't have one.
