Toshiba Libretto 70CT: White edges of LCD

I've done a lot of googling about this, and other than some MacBooks experiencing this, this seems like either an uncommon issue with LCD displays, or I am just unable to find a term for it. The plan is to go in and check the connections once the replacement CMOS battery I've ordered comes in, but I'd like to know what causes this, and if I should just go ahead and try to find a replacement display.

Update on this: I just ended up replacing the screen. The screen had the same issue, but it was much less severe.
