Hi folks,

How reliable are Toshiba Libretto 20-50's hardwarewise, and
how much is a good price for one?

Thank you

I only seen one, and the cable connecting the display with the mobo wore out. Other than that, it was fine (working fine before the cable broke)

Edit:

I actually asked the guy with the libretto, and my memory served me wrong. The cable hadn't worn out. He had actually dropped it and cracked the LCD.

I bought, (on eBay), a pristine condition Toshiba Libretto CT50 the 1st of June for $30. It came with 2 working batteries; one being a large capacity. It also came with a zippered case and port replicator. You can read more about it and other information in this thread;

I don't imagine mine has seen much use in the past 11 years by looking at the super condition it's in. That, and the fact that I've only had this Libretto a short time doesn't qualify me to judge it's 'lasting' factor. Mine runs and acts like a new machine. (Your mileage may vary :)
I do have two other Toshiba laptops, a T1960 and a T1100 and they run just fine - if that's any indication of lasting, then I'll vouch for them. I'm partial to these little Toshibas.

I loved mine, and had no problem with it, till it fell out of my jacket pocket while sitting in the waiting room at the VA hospital (only about a 2' drop). Before that unhappy event, it served me well for over a year. (Actually it was my favorite computer during the short time we had together...<brushing away a tear>). If you see one for a price you're willing to pay, by all means, grab it up. Just be careful not to drop it.
