Hi,
What video card can I use on this machine (isa 8 bit)?
I know that some video card does not work.
Thanks for your help.

See the 'Expansion bay' section of [here]. It indicates that the video card will need to go into the "expansion chassis".

That appears to be confirmed by Toshiba's flyer for the T3100E, at [here], which includes, "External expansion units are available with slots for up to five industry-standard option cards. These include for instance, network adapters, host communication, modems, additional hard drives, memory expansion, and graphics adapters."

i have used an ATI small wonders cga card in the isa card slot, although you have to remove the bracket from the card, so i could use the composite output from the card.
i think i have also tried an EGA card once but i'm not really sure if that worked all that well.

needless to say, you need a pretty short card to fit it into a 3100e

I tried with an 8 bit short oti 037c isa card and it didn't work, the only card that worked was an isa XT-IDE card, but for a video card I think it won't work unless you need a toshiba owner card

I dug out my Toshiba T3100e and both the ATI small wonders v2 card (cga) and an Octek VC-001 card (cga/ega). you need to setup the bios of the T3100e to use the "external" card. and setup up the jumpers on the card if needed.
For my ATI card, i had to set option 6 to "External CGA (80*25) (40*25 works aswell but is low res).

This card has both 9 pin TTL and composite out, so the jumpers on the card are set for colour output and colour output over TTL/Composite.

Planet X3 in CGA 16 colour composite mode on the living room TV.

For the Octek EGA card, set option 6 to External other (internal CGA disable). This gave me the best results. I use an MCA2VGA to connect the TTL card to a VGA monitor.

If i set the card up for CGA via jumpers, Planet X3 in 4 colour TTL CGA:

If i set the jumpers on the card for EGA, Simcity in EGA mode:

I wish i had an 8 bit VGA card to test with the machine but i don't have one.

Hope this helps

quick edit: i have also used an Adlib clone card in the T3100e, so that should work aswell.

Thank you for this information, but my motherboard is dead, if I manage to have the same machine I would do the tests.
