Hi all

I suspect I know the answer to this but I'm looking for a TRS-80 Model 1 Emulator that allows re-sizing of the pane size in Windows (ideally by dragging the corner) to a user-definiable size and that also includes disk drive sound emulation. I am currently using TRS32 which is excellent aside from the inability re-size the Window pane & the Window on a decent size Windows 10 screen is too small. There was apparaently a Beta version with Window-sizing enabled & I contacted the author but he says he doesnt want to release it for whatever reason.

As ever any help appreciated.

Thanks

Both trs80gp or SDL2trs have resizeable windows.

At this point on Windows trs80gp is the more capable emulator. SDL2TRS is supposed to do physical floppy access on Linux, from it's xtrs roots, but I've not tried that.

I have used both emulators on Linux, and trs80gp has the better user interface. The SDL2TRS UI is a bit different from what you would normally expect, being almost entirely keyboard-driven.

trs80gp is the one to go for, in my opinion. Not just for the M1 but 2,3,4,12 & 16 too! Just click & drag to the size you need. Different screen quality and colour just a mouse-click away. Works fine on a Pi400 too!

Thanks guys - trs80gp looks really good from what I have seen too. My only potential issue is does trs80gp do floppy disk sound emulation (ie the drive noises when accessing a floppy dirve) ? I can't seem to find that going through the configuration menus but maybe I'm missing something ?

Seems like it's all about the "sound of floppy drives", not accessing real disk drives: this function is available in MAME and TRS32 ...
Everaldo R. Lima hacked the original version of SDLTRS for his project to play the "sound of floppy drives" and kindly sent me his changes and the samples ... but I have to admit that after some experiments, I didn't think this feature was that "important" ... ;)

Sorry guys I probs didnt explain myself very well - what I'm looking for is a Windows based TRS-80 emulator that will; A) support user defined re-sizing of the window (ideally dragging a corner), & B) play an emulated or sampled floppy drive mechanism sound when emulating floppy drive access. TRS32 does the latter but not the former. TRS80GP looks great but I couldn't find anything in the config menus that indicated a floppy drive sound emulation. What be great to hear if I was wrong on that ?

Must admit I haven't thought of MAME at all - may give that a try. Can anyone plse advise if the MAME TRS80 emulation provides floppy drive sounds ?
