Trying to get XTIDE Deluxe working on IBM 5150

It is an XTIDE Deluxe by Blue Lava Systems and I already installed and got the other one I bought working with my IBM 5160XT with no problems. For some reason the 5150 is giving me issues I am trying to use it along side the original MFM HDD card and drive. I have tried changing bios address to no avail? What else can I do?

This is a picture of what it does with both XTIDE and original HDD and card in at the same time:

Did you try running:
FDISK /MBR
Sometimes there is corruption that prevents booting from the CF card. Running the above command will not erase your data.

Also, read this on MinusZeroDegrees:

IMPORTANT:Make sure that the MFM drive is successfully booting in the computer before (repeat: before) you add the XT-IDE card. That is because the XT-IDE card will default to booting from the MFM drive.
IMPORTANT:The ROM in the XT-IDE card needs to be sitting at a higher address than the ROM in the XT-class MFM hard drive controller card. That is normally the case (XT-IDE card = D0000, XT-class MFM card = C8000).

The MFM drive does boot fine without the XTIDE card installed. I have tried changing the bios address for the XTIDE it just makes it boot straight to the MFM drive.

I did try that to no avail but did not try reformatting the CF card.

When booting on the 5150 with the XTIDE installed, if you were to select drive D (MFM), does it then successfully boot? If so, I'd suspect the setup on the CF card.

No it will not boot either with the XTIDE card installed but will when it is only one of them installed.
Does it work when you swap it into the 5150?
That is the one I am having issues with neither of them will work with the 5150 but will work fine in the 5160XT I have 2 XTIDE Cards with 256MB CF Cards in them and also tried both CF Cards as well. I tried turning on the high speed and it will boot to the Internal drive as C: after the XT Bios comes up.

Which kind of 5150? 16-64 or 64-256?

What other cards do you have in the 5150? Any change if you pull everything out and get down to a minimum config? (Video card, XTIDE, and MFM controller)

I have the 64-256 5150 and it also has 2 floppy drives one full height 360k and one half height 1.44MB 35inch drive. I have removed the MFM HDD controller card and it will boot to the XTIDE.
Actually, I'll pull everything except video card and XT-IDE. Just to get to a baseline of "does this work at all or not".
I have removed the MFM HDD controller card and it will boot to the XTIDE.

I tried changing the bios address on both but all I can get is to boot the XTIDE and the mfm will not show up as D: drive or as secondary Hard drive.

So you have a particular {[XTIDE Deluxe + CF] + [MFM HDD card + MFM drive]} combination that works together in your IBM 5160. You simply move that particular combination (i.e. same identical hardware - pretend each item has a serial number) to your IBM 5150, to discover that the combination doesn't work there.

But in the 5150, you discover that:
- The [XTIDE Deluxe + CF] works if the [MFM HDD card + MFM drive] are removed, and
- The [MFM HDD card + MFM drive] works if the [XTIDE Deluxe + CF] are removed.

Correct ?
