Update on a new 4MG S-100 Static RAM Board

In our continuing efforts to build new S-100 boards, we have now just completed the second prototype of our S-100 4Mg Static RAM S-100 board. The board is now as best I can tell complete and ready for a production run.

While this board will work with current 8 bit systems, it is really for 16 bit systems (8086, 80286 and 80386 etc.). The board has a capacity for 4MG of RAM (way past most people’s need) It has 50ns access time chips! You can read more about it here.

Well, he usually spells it Mg; that'd be a pretty heavy board (4 metric tons)... ;-)

Wonder if it'd work in my Cromemco 68000/68020 systems; it'd sure use less power than the set of 4x2MB boards in there now... not about to spend the big bucks to find out though...
 
There's a cheaper source for these. Futurlec has the Samsung KM684000 for about $9.

A nit on the article--the AS6C4008 is a 32-pin DIP, not 36.
 
Thanks for noticing that Chuck, will update. I re-looked at Jameco catalogue they are now only $5.96 each. (#1927617)

Certainly cheaper than what the 2MB Cromemco cards cost in their day, but even at $5.96 per RAM chip (free actually, since I already have some) still more than what I'm prepared to spend (which is $0.00 ;-) )
But it would have been interesting to see whether your card would work in their 68020 systems.
