Hello folks,
this is not mine; i do some supportive work for another collector.
In Hamburg is a storage room from two people who urgently needs to be emptied.
Bc the two people have been a long time not doing hobbyist work there they did not notice a small hole in a wall / the roof
where about a dozen pidgeons fell into the (heated) room for circa about half a year.
So you may imagine that there now is partly a lot covered with poo.
But - that does not mean everything is scrap, on most systems tops are other things stored which covered partly the big irons.
Besides the big irons also Unix workstations from SUN, IBM, Networking components like big switches etc.
Up to now i have been told the following:
Everything must be gone until THIS SUNDAY !!!
If some people are interested in rescuing systems pm me, i can send you some pics as i won't post them here directly.
Rescuing only if one wants to get them to use at least after cleaning for putting on display or trying to get them up and running again
-- Scrapping will be done as a last step if necessary by the two collectors.
The storage room itself is always dry, i have been told the poo on top of the systems also.
Supportive work if you are eventually from the Hamburg area would also be nice, some helping hands for moving stuff out of the room.
The landlord may eventually put two shipping containers as an short time storage alternative room besides the building.
But how to get big irons above the 5 centimeters height difference from the ground onto the container, eventually with some self build wooden ramp.
I have been told that protective things like gloves, disposable clothing etc. will be available at no cost.
The systems itself are available for free !! -- BUT - no gold diggers !!
( my opinion: if you get some big iron, donate them at least a small amount )
A few e10k, one primepower 2000, one 1000, a few 800
IBM AS/400
One tape robot
Enterprise storage EMC class style
( I will add further info when i got it )
Best regards,
Wildfire
