Why is postage from the U.S. to G.B. so expensive nowadays?
There's a USB power supply for the Model 100, on Ebay, at US$5, which looks a really neat and useful bit of kit
However, the postage to the U.K. is US$25!!!

It ups the voltage from 5v to 6v - how is that achieved?
Here's the Ebay number
154401640136
Anyone in the U.K. making them please?

The Ripcord USB adapters use a small buck/boost switching module. You can get them for 6, 9 and 12v output.

Amazon item I see, however, that they're not shown on amazon.co.uk.

To answer your question, just search for "USB Boost Converter" on amazon--they're small modules and very inexpensive.

Just a point of curiosity, however. Have tried running your Model 100 from straight 5V USB? Often, on these battery-powered rigs, there's quite a bit of tolerance as regards battery condition.

I didn't know these things existed, that's pretty cool!

Just make sure you get a center negative one, this one linked is center positive.

Note: Sorry OP, I didn't check that you were in the UK with my post. I will look at that closer next time I reply to something :)

Thanks for the info. guys. It was the first time I'd seen one of these.
It would be interesting to see how a M100 ran at 5V's !
I'll do a short article about it for the June edition of TRS8BIT
