So I got my Breakthrough 286 going on my Vendex 888-XT using the Generic Turbo XT-BIOS. It is the 12 MHz version. Anyway it has a 24 MHz Oscillator and I swapped it out for a 30 MHz. I think there is probably something else limiting it - but it goes VROOM for sure. Don’t know if it is stable or not. I had also put in a 28.6363. I need to do comparative benchmarks. Oh yeah - forgot to mention that I put in a 16 MHz 286. It has that weird package format that is like the pads so the fastest 286 I could find is the 16 MHz. I know I am bus limited but want to see how far I can go.

I’ve done some additional adjustments and found the fastest settings for the BT286 in this configuration. Here is where I landed on TOPBENCH. I am actually pretty curious about where this falls or others opinions of it. I know a strange activity since I could just pull out my 486 and use it, but this is the PC of my youth and to see it operate this way is pretty exciting. Not sure what to try next. Any suggestions?

Here it is playing a mod file on Mod Master mixed at 44.1 KHz on the SB 2.0.

@Trixter ... I noticed something strange with a TOPBENCH result on this machine. You can see in the screenshot it shows a score of 23, but when I look in the INI file it is showing a 25:

Regardless above is the information for the .INI file if you'd like it.
