I know several people here are working with FPGAs in one form or another.

Here are several texts by Pedroni which, for some reason, are available online in pdf format. I’ve down loaded them but won’t pretend to have gotten beyond the tables of contents. All are current publications from the MIT press –

This is really good information. Thanks for posting. Previous to these texts, most of the books I've tried on VHDL seemed way to advanced/confusing for me. These books look understandable.

Me too!!!
I have spent hundreds on VHDL books that are not nearly as clear and understandable.
They seem (to me) to be aimed at somebody that already knows VHDL (I don't.. trying to learn)
if you don't have a professor to explain what is written, well it just doesn't work.

This is WAY better!
