I have a Wintel machine running VICE 3.1, connected to a C64 via RS232. I'm using the User Port on the C64 and COM1 on the Wintel box. In HyperTerminal, I can communicate with the C64. But in VICE, I can't. I assumed that under RS232 Settings, that I should set Serial Port 1 to 'COM1' (no quotes), and the User Port serial settings to Serial Port 1. This does not seem to work. The emulated user port RS232 seems to work, but the I/O goes nowhere beyond the emulator, at least as far as I can tell.
All the instructions I can find for VICE refer to UNIX I/O, but this runs WindowsXP. So my assumption about 'COM1' could be wrong. Does anyone know how to make this work?
