Greetings to all. I'll try to make this short and sweet and try not to sound like a windbag. Since around 1992, I've been flying three Flt sims called AirCombat Classics. The system was an IBM OS/2. It's been working fine for the last 40 years, until recently, the hard drive finally let go. They don't make em like they used to. That's for sure. For that matter, they don't make anything like they used to. Since these disk are in "A:" drive, How can I download these disk onto a contemporary computer? I have a usb external floppy reader, but it wont download. It only reads and It wont let me open any files. With my limited computer knowledge, it puts me at a great disadvantage. I would be eternally grateful if someone with greater computer knowledge than myself, that shouldn't be difficult to find, would shed some light on a solution to my dilemma. What steps I can use to adapt the old with the new. Any questions/comments would be appreciated.

It sounds like you are trying to run some old DOS games on a modern PC. Easiest way to do this is emulation. Download and install DOSBox-X. (If your PC has Windows 10 or 11, you want this one.)

Plug in your USB floppy drive and run DOSBox-X from the start menu. Type C: and then enter. Press Y. Type A: and then enter. Press Y. Now you can install and run your games as you normally would on an old PC.

If they run too slowly, you can increase the speed with the CPU menu (Increment cycles or Emulate CPU speed). Pressing F11+F will toggle full screen. If you lose the mouse cursor, you can press the windows key to get it back.

Are you talking about these: ?

If so, then yes, DOSBox will work great for them.

Yes, The LucasArts is exactly what i have. I also managed to find that very same collection on ebay in mint condition. The instruction booklet looks like it has never been opened and the three disk still has their labels attached. I already have had DOSBox downloaded. A local tech help company downloaded it, however, I believe the tech told me that the set of disks that i had given him for download were not viable. So, he found a digital version of the Flt sim on-line. The program, however, isn't even close to the original. The flight characteristics are way off. With all of that said, are you saying that these new disk that i have acquired can be downloaded onto DOSBox? My all time favorite aircraft is the Junkers JU-52 (AKA) Iron Anne.

Thank you, Timo W. for your kind reply.

I'll try that. Thank you, Plasma.
