Want to buy CGA monitor cable for XT

Most CGA monitors already have a built in (attached) cable.
Is this for a specific type of monitor that doesn't have an attached cable ?

For example my Mitsubishi AUM-1381 monitor doesn't have an attached cable.
It has only a 9 pin connector on the back. I purchased a 9 pin serial cable ,
I think it was Male-Female , and it works fine attached to my PC.
 
Yes, as long as you have a 9-pin RS-232 cable (NOT null modem) which has all 9 wires connected (they usually advertise that), it will operate just fine as a CGA cable. I have two machines hooked up to a single CGA monitor with an RS-232-intended switchbox being the split control.
