I'm looking for, as it says, an original keyboard for the above computer, in good condition.

Seems that it has a DB9 style of connector?

Anyway, if you have one and want to sell it, PM me with the details.

Thank you.

DB9? Ha! It is proprietary, actually. The end connector appears to be a VGA conncetor, but with only 2 rows, but 1 row of pins. I suppose it is more of a TGA, or EGA connector. Either way, Are you joining the few on this forum who own an AT&T 6300(like me, for example. I gots 2)?

As a collector of AT&T stuff I have an AT&T cataloge. Acording to it, it is the industrial built of the 6300. It is a normal 6300 in a different case. Usually used in industrial builings, and as servers. I've been eyballing it, but shipping is about $100. Little high for me, even though it comes with rare manuals.

Oh look Curtis, even comes with our fave Globalyst 200! Uh, I hate to say it but I would bet these puppies end up WAY out of the "econ" range of about any of us. Whine, UNIX WITH DOCS!, boo hoooo.

I have one myself; it was my first machine. Still works, and was one of the first machines I consider "modded" (I'll have to put up pictures someday; I made many modifications to it)

I have two AT&T keyboards but, unfortunately for you, I have two AT&T machines that need them (a 6300 and a 6286).

Lucky for you, it is TRIVIAL to make an adapter. Pinout for the AT&T keyboard is here, and the signals match up with a regular keyboard: http://pinouts.ru/Inputs/KeyboardAtt6300_pinout.shtml

Ooo, a 6286? Fancy! There was a bunch of parts to make one of those on eBay, and the guy told me he ven had the original case. Unfortunatley though, I couldn't afford the stuff after I bough computers locally. Good thing I didn't bid! The 6300 I have was my first machine, too. Been using it since I was 2, and I still am at 15. I even have the original games I used to play on it *pulls out Duke Nukem in Shrapnel City*. Fun times indeed! I think I'll drag it from under my bed now.

Going on topic for a moment, I too have two keyboards for the 6300. Unfortunatley, I have 2 6300s that need them. One is in parts right now, but all I gotta do is put it back together and I'm back to needing it. Besides, my extra(unlike my main AT&T keyboard) is yellowed on top, and on the cord, and is nasty.

Lemme know if you don't find a keyboard, I could use the mobo and drives! (By the way, the floppies in that thing are proprieary. My non-AT&T machines don't recognize them, and my AT&T don't recognize my generic floppy drive)

The above "pinouts.ru" will solve his problems, I strongly suspect. I only go to that site about twice a week! Did I think to look there, no....

Yes, that was my first thought and I could easily make the adapter, but, I like to keep the system original, if I even take it.

Remember, I don't collect, I repair, restore and resell.

Trying to sell a system with proprietery parts without having the parts means it'll just sit on a shelfing unit until I croak and all this stuff gets tossed out.

If I get one, great, I'll take the computer, if not, well, then that's life. It's not exactly up there in the "unique" category.

Hey, if you're still looking for a keyboard, frustum_at_pacbell.net (email him) knows of someone who is willing to part with their entire system for just the cost of shipping. Description was: "Seeking a new home for a pristine 1985 Personal Computer with peripherals, software, and original documentation. All were functioning perfectly in February 1998, when replaced and stored. All items are in their original boxes:
AT&T PC6300 with 256KB RAM and two 5-1/4" floppy drives, Color Monitor, Keyboard, Mouse, and Citizen MSP-15 dot matrix printer with 8-1/2x11 and 11x15 tractor feed paper. "

Thanks for the info, Trixter, but, the unit itself is nearby and the keyboard is all I need to complete it and get the rest of the unit.

Someone, somewhere, would be without a keyboard still and breaking up such a prized set would be a crime. I'll just keep looking until it slides off the "important things to track down" list.
