I bought a CompuPro 816/10+ MP4 computer off eBay a couple of weeks ago hoping that I'd be able to get it to boot off an external 8" floppy drive using a set of Compupro 816 Concurrent DOS 4.1E master disks that I own. Unfortunately, I have had no luck. In addition, I am not able to boot off the hard drive for the system, initially because it was password protected, and now because it is showing a read error on boot.

My only option to get this system going is to track down the proper 5.25" DSQD boot disks for it, or images of the proper boot disks.

I have already tried the CCPM disk images located here: http://www.retroarchive.org/maslin/disks/compupro/

Those will start to boot (I get a message on screen about the Version 1.1 Floppy Loader) but freeze before offering me any interactive prompts. I do not know if that means something is wrong with those images or if the OS version (which seems to be 3.0, looking at the uncompressed disk images in a hex editor) is too old for the 10+ MP4. If anyone knows of a hardware reason that might be happening rather than it being an issue with the image itself (other than dirty drive heads, as I have already cleaned those) let me know and I'll see if I can check it out.

If anyone has the proper system master disks or knows where I can find images of them for this machine, please led me know!

I will add that I'm not sure if the computer name will appear on the disk labels. I would be willing to take a chance on any Compupro Concurrent DOS disk version 5.0 or higher on 5.25" floppy.

Actually I just got a reply to my original thread in the CP/M section about this -- they might have been found now! Fingers crossed they will end up working!
