Hi, I'm looking for the low-profile 486 desktops: 4dx2-66v, 4sx-33v, etc that are of vintage 1992-1994. Totally working with Dos 6.22 and Win 3.11 would be nice, but am flexible on what's available. Feel free to contact me if you have one to sell.

Thanks,

When you say "low-profile, how tall is the case? I'll have to look at the particular models I have for an exact match. The OS preload is easy for me too (box of full licenced shrink-wrapped dual DOS/Win packs from the school system here a few years ago).

I believe those systems came in 3 flavors: tower, full-height case (3 5 1/4" bays) and low profile (2 - 5 1/4" bays). I'd be happy with either desktop, really, just not the tower.

If the OS has been blanked, then it's likely all the config for video and sound would need to be redone. I can do this myself, but if it was already operating it would have been a plus.

If you have multiple machines available, feel free to PM or email me the specs - hdd, CD-ROM y or n, sound car y or no, RAM, video, etc.

Thanks for your help and your reply - I really appreciate it.

Hey! My full sized TOWER from 1991 is still working just fine! Fan is pretty noisy after all these years.

Gateway 486DX2

Have a 100% working, super-clean (flat case) Gateway 486DX2 66mHz -- used presently as the host to a MIDI music board under Win98SE (a Turtle Beach Multisound Classic). I plan to KEEP the sound card -- it has a vintage eMu Proteus-1 onboard (I helped to design that microchip).

What's your need? I might be willing to part with the Gateway --
