WANTED - Keylock, switch, and RAM

I recently picked up a neat little 486, but unfortunately, it's got some problems. One of them is the keyboard lock, as someone drilled out the original one. The other is the power switch. I was wondering if anyone had either of those parts, the switch is lower on my list for parts, as it still works.

I also was wondering if anyone had any SIPP ram. Just need four sticks.

I thought about that, maybe I'll do that, I've got tons of old 30-pin SIMMS. Could probably use something like this.

Some idea of what the original keylock and power switch looks like might help. Unless they're really peculiar, it should be pretty simple to source new ones.

At one time, pins with a forked end to fit the PCB were used to convert SIMMs to SIPPs; they may still be around. When I had a need for SIPPs, I just soldered short lengths of phosphor bronze wire to the SIMM PCB tabs. Worked well enough.

Sure thing! Here are a few pictures - of the power switch and the keylock, pretty similar to most other cases from the era. I do have some generic keys for the locks, so I should be good there unless it uses different keys.





I might just go ahead and make my own SIPPs, as I did just find some headers that look like they should work.

Even simpler than that, if you get a standard simm socket (the kind that stand straight up) it fits right into the sipp socket without modification. That way you can just put your simms into the simm sockets and plug the entire thing into the sipp ot without ruining the simms.

Yeah, either of those options will probably the way I go. They seem to be the easiest or at least, the fastest, without having to search for SIPPs.

I suppose 1 meg stick might work, either that or 256k sticks as I do have two 256k sticks, but my board needs at least four.
