I have a Tandy 1400 LT laptop with a pair of non-functioning keys. I would like to try to replace them, but I have never seen the switches before. Anyone have a broken or parts only 1400 LT, HD or FD? I only need the keyboard, which can be separated from the rest of the system.

I actually do happen to have a 'parts' 1400 FD. I'll check the keyboard for you as soon as I get home.

Thanks for checking, I'm not sure that will work.

The keyboard is not a direct swap, the LT's does not use a membrane connector but ribbon cables soldered directly to the keyboard's PCB. The keyswitches are soldered onto a PCB and each keyswitch has an accompanying but separate diode.

If the keyswitches are the same, then I can desolder them from your keyboard and put them on mine. Of course, if yours are not soldered at all, then they won't work on my machine. This is what my keyboard looks like :

Unfortunately, it looks like this keyboard won't be able to help you out, then. It's 100% membrane, so no physical switches.
