I have a copy the Sams Computerfacts CSCS6 for the Zenith Model ZF-151-52. I haven't seen this online anywhere except ebay and Amazon, so if someone has the time, skills and hardware to scan it let me know and I'll send it. If this works out I have some other odds and ends that probably should be archived somewhere. :)

Is it loose leaf or bound? I have a scanner that will scan 65 pages a minute front and back. Would a multi-page tiff be okay?

Jimmy

It's not bound - but it has a lot of two and three page wide illustrations.

If you don't want to try this one, I have some loose leaf and spiral bound stuff. GBC System 9 and Televideo, off the top of my head.

We have a couple of fujitsu 5950's they are rated I think at 135ppm simplex or 65 ppm duplex, and no they are not affordable.

Are all the page 8 1/2 or 11 inches wide or tall if you turn the foldouts sideways?

PM me for an address, the scanner will handle 11" wide documents ok and the lenght can be variable. How many pages volumes do you have to scan?

Jimmy

I was thinking about this the other night as well. I'll have to wait a while before I can find any worthwhile scanner (although I've been curious about camera/OCR programs but last time I used them it was more work correcting the text than it was scanning it the right way). But I've seen some interesting phone apps too that can just take pictures of books. Might be interesting. Either way what I was wondering if there's a good "ring" or so of museums that could work together on stuff like this. It'd be a neat project to get a list computer museums or other museums around who have the hardware and volunteer to share the usage. Perhaps scan a document of theirs and one of yours type of agreement. If there was one around here I'd certainly help as well as scan some things I have pending the day I can find a nice scanner.

"How many pages volumes do you have to scan?"
I can send the ComputerFacts, which doesn't have that many pages. (50-100, not sure) Or I can fill a box if I dig through the basement. :)
Depends on how much time you have. I have your address.
