Hi Everyone:
I'm looking for an ancient copy of Western Digital's "EZ BIOS", not to be confused with WD's "XBIOS". The WD site offers no down loads and only has "EZ BIOS" references in PDF format. No luck with Google either. As far as I can tell, it's not embedded in any of my WD's "Data Lifeguard Tools" disks - I have versions 11.1 & 11.3.
I have a new 486 project and the mobo has an AMI (1993) BIOS. Its kind of flakey in the HD support area. Althought it appears to support BLOCK mode and LBA, neither of my 20/30 GB Maxtor's can see past the 540 MB barrier with the 32-bit FAT. However, I was sucessful in seeing 8.4 GB with the 16-bit DOS 6.2.
EZ BIOS is supposed to load in the HD boot track area and give you LBA support above and beyond the 8.4MB limit. I would appreciate any tips or pointers on how to solve this minor problem.
