I'm back...
I am getting a Hayed optima 14400 modem and I have a asynchronous communications card in my 5160. Is it possible to hook the modem the the card if I changed it to RS-232C instead of current loop? If so what sort of cable would I need? (could someone point me to an eBay listing?)
If it cant be used with the asynchronous communications card what type of serial cable would I need to interface it with a regular serial port like what is commonly found on serial/parallel cards?

No idea as to the asynchronous communications card.

Unless the Hayes is very unusual, it should be a 25-pin female connector so the cable would need a 25-pin male connector and the other connector that mates with the serial port. 9-pin serial port any of these or any similar cable would work http://www.monoprice.com/Category?f...egoryId:102&c_id=102&searchtype=subcategoryid

With the older IBM PC 25-pin connector, you would need a cable listed as 25M/25F Something like http://www.monoprice.com/products/p...=10212&cs_id=1021201&p_id=1591&seq=1&format=2 would work though you might prefer a longer cable.

Check the length you will need for you placement.
