Back in January, MS was advertising a "Lifetime Pro License" for Windows 11. Exactly what did that mean? Will MS support Windows 11 for the next 50 years?

The product's lifetime is as long as they want it to be, so maybe 2 years after the next version.
My Windows 2.11 PC still has a valid license, the Windows 10 laptop, not so much. 11 won't install on any hardware i have.
Life was easier with 95, just put in a few random digits for the license key - usually worked within 5 attempts and no internet required first.
And yes, penguins rule in most other places.

It means they will re activate it on the same hardware it was initially installed on during whatever they consider to be the lifetime of the Windows 11 product.
So, if you are alive in 50 years, you have the exact same setup with no major hardware upgrades, AND MS still sells and supports Windows 11 you can re install and activate the OS as long as you have intergalactic internet because tech support has been offshored to Uranus.
