What is a "Profile post"?

I was checking out the "What's new" section and after scrolling down came across "Profile Posts". What are these Profile Posts? How are they created?

Go to your profile. The text box "Update your status" will create a profile post. Basically, easy blogging that doesn't clutter the main forum.

Thank you. So this is a separate section that I have never seen because I always click on "New Posts". But Profile Posts only show on the
"What's New?" section. I wonder how many other forum regulars also did not know this section was there? Maybe it was just me.

From now on I will click on "What's New" and then browse to New Posts and Profile Posts.
