Hi Guys,
New member here from Australia. I probably have a similar story to a lot of members here. I'm in my late 40's and had a TRS-80 model 1 when I was 17. I learnt to program on that microcomputer which led to a career in IT (which I still work). A few months ago I was browsing eBay and saw a Model I for sale. I now have a TRS-80 Model 1, TRS-80 Model 4 and a Commodore 128 on the way! As usual, my wife can't understand why I would be interested in this "junk", her words not mind :) My current project is to learn Z80 and 6502 assembly language programming, which I didn't master when i was young.

I'm really enjoying the Retro round table podcast and was wondering what the opening song was? It’s really growing on me as I go back and listen to past episodes.

Regards,
Stephen

Hi there,

Welcome to the forums! The Model I is a nice machine - great BASIC. Did a bunch on that back in high school myself.

The theme for the RCR Podcast is "Back to Oz" by John X. Here's a link to the site.

Thanks for listening to the RCR, and have fun with the C128 when it arrives!

Hi Earl,
Thanks for the link! I also enjoy listening to your Retrobits podcast. I've been going back listensing to the old episodes, they have been great, really enjoying them! Hopefully the C128 will arrive later in the week. I've attached a photo of my current TRS-80 Model 4 and 1 setup below.

Hi Tez,
Thanks, that is a really impressive collection you have yourself! Thanks for all the work you have put into your own site. I've spent a lot of time there reading all the great information you have there.

Regards,
Stephen

The model I was the first micro system I ever touched.

I often wonder what a different turn my life may have taken if my grandfather hadn't bought that machine, as such a decision would likely have delayed my father's decision to buy my first computer. Probably electrical engineering.
