The topic 'your rarest vintage computer bits' is dangerously going off topic.
Let's then start a new topic here, where it more likely belongs.

So, the question is what do you have storaged in your garage ? Two, four or more wheels
or even roller chains if you like - a free for all garage treasures topic.

I've got this Fiat 600 (Seat) -71 among others more or less (mostly less) finished or started,
yet loved items. Can you guess which of the picture is from summer 2008 and which from 2018 =).

Does it have to have wheels? How about tracks. I have one of two M29 Weasel amphibious personnel/cargo carriers tested by the Australian Army late in WWII for possible jungle operations in New Guinea, but found to be 'unsuitable for Australian conditions' according to the army test report. The war ended and they were disposed of to the tourism operators in the Australian alps for taking skiers up to their chalets.
It's a big project, almost all of the parts have to come from overseas, and some even came from Antarctica.

No, since it's in your garage, you're welcome to present it here!
Wow, sound like something you don't see every day. Share a picture
if it is not too inconvenient.

Bought this guy last summer. Slumbering now in the garage, waiting for good weather to come back.

1982, with a little over 50K miles.

Since you said it was a 'free for all', so I have this currently stored in the garage:

  • 2013 Camaro L99 2SS
  • Procharger
  • COMP cam (LS3 street blower grind)
  • Stainless Works headers & and pipes
  • Heads ported & polished
  • LS7 lifters/titanium rockers & push rods
  • ALP studs & bolts
  • Revamped fuel delivery in the works

I've got a 1972 Dodge Dart Swinger and an 198-something Land Rover Ninety Ex-MOD

Ive got a 1989 Acura Legend (my first car) its on its fifth Transmission [switched it from Automatic to 5 speed] and second engine with about 310K miles on the body. Also have a 1977 Hondamatic Cb750 inline 4 cylinder motorcycle.

I’ve had 3 Legend Coupes over the years. I bought one from a guy that said it had a bad engine, so that I could use the transmission. It had over 400,000 miles on it. When we got the trailer to my friend’s shop, we put a booster on it and drove it off the trailer. It ran great, but would lose oil pressure after about 20 minutes of driving.

I’ve got the factory service manuals for 87 sedan, 87 coupe, 88 coupe, and 89 coupe if you ever need any info.

Thanks ive got all the service manuals. Great car meant to run forever. Shame Honda doesnt make cars this well built anymore.

I've got a 1971 Mustang Convertible, a 1979 Honda ATC 110, 1983 Honda z50r, 1974 Honda XL70, and several antique engines and outboards, plus a 1952 Murray Aeroline bicycle. Taught myself about motors and I've been fixing up all sorts of weird stuff ever since- the z50 was a free basket case I put back together and modified and the Mustang was my daily driver from 2016-2018 with 20k miles in that time. The rest I just got from various places and mechanically restored

When I saw the thread title I assumed computers, and I was going to say that in fact car parts have overflowed into the computer area rather than the other way around...

I have a BMW 528e with M50 engine and a 6-speed, and a 633CSi with a Megasquirt setup. It's the MS1Extra which uses the 8MHz '908 microcontroller. The whole firmware is written in assembly so I made some modifications to it too. The original "Motronic" fuel injection systems on these cars used a CDP1802 CPU at 4MHz. See, this is barely even off topic...

In the past I owned an '84 3-series, an '80, and an '81. They were all tragically destroyed by rust. Unfortunately back then I didn't know about Noxudol 700 which slows the rust way down. Also, on the 633CSi I just said eff it! and welded the sunroof shut, so I don't have to worry about the floors/rockers rusting out due to the ill-conceived drainage scheme.

No garage. What about a car park?

-Rowe refrigerated food vending machine I'm still in the process of rebuilding (late 1970's narrow cabinet system I cannot seem to find ANYONE else admitting they used or sell parts for but entirely electro-mechnical)
-Fairbanks Morse "Gibson" refrigerator (1952-ish. Recharged the system with R-12a last fall and cleaned it up but it's for sale)
-Old Westinghouse 10000BTU air conditioner (Horizontal mount that doesn't fit in any windows but it's too clean to get rid of yet)
-Mountains of parts for an AMC Eagle
-Said 1982 AMC Eagle that I daily

1963 Willys Pickup with GM 4.3 V6 engine, stock transmission/transfer case/axles. I need to fix the fuel pump, and it will be good to go...

I have a 1975 Mercedes 450 SL that I inherited from my father, who purchased it new. Midnight blue with a tan leather interior. 56,000 original miles.
And a 1948 Ford 8N with a front loader.

Those are amazing. I wish I had one.. I d be happy to test drive one in working condition. That is the exact type of vehicle I need for the terrain I live in.

Having owned a few AMC eagles (3 wagons, 1 SX/4 and 1 two door sedan), the closet modern vehicle I've found is the 2005-2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee. IFS front with solid rear axle, just about the identical wheelbase. Felt a lot like driving an Eagle wagon.

Love the murray aeroline.

I have a 63 IH Scout currently, and that's about it as far as vintage goes. I used to have a 93 Festiva that had a ton of modifications. That was a fun car to tinker with.
