Hi,
I would like to install a HP DLTVS 80 SCSI TRAVIN tape from in my PIII WIN95/98se system.
I an not too good with SCSI or tapes drives and I want to learn more.
I have a Adaptec 2940W/2940UW PCI card. This card has two ports, 50-pin and I think is the wider trapezoidal connector. This last one matches the tape drive. I need to get a ribbon cable for this. What is this size.
I also have a JAZ 1GB SCSI drive. It has a 50-pin connector and cable. It came with it's own ISA scsi card. and really slows the POST process. It sits for about a minute 'initializing'. But win98 dose see the drive after the long process to get to the desktop.
For no particular reason, I want both drives in the my system.
I'm sure I will need drives for the card and the tape drive.
Then software for the tape drive.
Oh, how do I make sure the SCSI ID's are right, and what about terminators. Do I need two different terminators since I will be using two different ribbon cables? I have a terminator on the end of the 50-pin cable.
My System has a removable HD system so I will also be running XP and DOS6.22/Win3.11. Is there any drives and software for those platforms?
I know this is a lot of questions, Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
