As per title Im looking for a WinBond W83C311WF

If you have one - I would be grateful if you could reply.

I doubt any one has one of these as a chip. We might have one on a board but as we have no idea what it does, and neither does google I have no idea where to start looking.

It is listed as an "Advanced Bus Controller" used in conjunction with the Winbond Watch PC/AT chipset. So checking low end 386sx motherboards might turn up one with it onboard. Most likely soldered.

Solder is not a problem for me, I have a selection of hot air re-work tools so can safley lift most chips. I might have to order a tools. What I don't have are any low-end 386SX motherboards, and I can't see any on E-Bay with Winbond chip sets...

I am confused by why the OP wants just the one chip not a complete set or complete set with motherboard since the chip is useless without the rest of the set.

Someone though is very interested in it since I can find recent posts on a number of boards all searching for the same chip.

OP, could you tell the reason you are looking for this chip?

I did find it amusing that 83C311 is absolutely nothing like 83311 which is a terminator for DDR memory busses. Recycled code number make Google exciting.

Hi

I have an Amstrad 486 SLC motherboard (basically a 386 with some 486 instructions). It is a motherboard that can used to swap the 386 motherboard on an Amstrad Mega PC but I have found out this chip is faulty.

If I can find a motherboard with it or just the chip then I can fix my Amstrad board which is very rare.

Are there other chips that are compatible with this?

There probably are; Winbond was not known for innovative design. I have no idea how to find a match since normal searches for related parts result in very different chips. I think all you can do is wait for a matching Amstrad system to appear and cannibalize that. Yes, other motherboards had Winbond chips but mostly in low-end white box systems that tended to be discarded.

I am glad to know the why and what behind the request.

The chances of finding another Amstrad board is remote!

If I could find compatible chips then I could at least try that route!
