You might be better off looking for an enhanced IIe motherboard on the cheap and remove the necessary chips. I've got an upgrade kit still in the shrinkwrap, but like many I'm sure they are holding on to them for their collection.
About 35-40% of ROM01s have the pins pre-soldered for the upgrade, but what's funny is ebayers always claim these are "rare". Guess I shouldn't be surprised. It all started when ebay seller mcpricebreakers sold one for $500 a few years ago claiming only like 40 existed or something. It only takes one...FWIW, the IIgs Upgrade base pan is the rare bit - the ROM01 motherboards are a dime a dozen, many coming with the keyboard/keypad/IIe-style power headers already installed.
