I have a nice IIe that I'd like to upgrade to "enhanced" or a IIgs. If you have either kit I may be interested. Drop me a PM if you have either kit and are willing to part with it.

You might be better off looking for an enhanced IIe motherboard on the cheap and remove the necessary chips. I've got an upgrade kit still in the shrinkwrap, but like many I'm sure they are holding on to them for their collection.

I have a complete Apple IIgs upgrade system, but considering I lusted over the thought of having one from 1987-2002 when I got mine, it's not going anywhere anytime soon. Sorry this doesn't help you any.

FWIW, the IIgs Upgrade base pan is the rare bit - the ROM01 motherboards are a dime a dozen, many coming with the keyboard/keypad/IIe-style power headers already installed.

Hi,

Actually, I was planning to make myself a IIe Enhanced kit by
- burning the two ROMs from these images
- and I already ordered a brand new 65C02 from Mouser (part 955-W65C02S6TPG-14).

As far as I know, you can use these new-production 65C02s as long as you pull pin BE high. (due to some minor changes in new 65c02s, see here). I'll let you know if it really works - once I get around to actually doing it ;)

Regards,

Oscar.

I would be happy to take a IIe enhanced motherboard as well. It's funny, there used to be tons of those enhancement kits on ebay but haven't seen any for a couple months now.

I think I may have an enhanced motherboard but I have to double check to see if I still have it. Got it in a lot I bought and should still be here somewhere.

About 35-40% of ROM01s have the pins pre-soldered for the upgrade, but what's funny is ebayers always claim these are "rare". Guess I shouldn't be surprised. It all started when ebay seller mcpricebreakers sold one for $500 a few years ago claiming only like 40 existed or something. It only takes one...
