I'm looking for a piece of my childhood, the first PC compatible my family ever had. If anyone has one or has a line on where I can find one I'd love to add that bit of nostalgia back into my collection.

Ideally with keyboard and in good condition, but since I've had difficulty finding one in any condition at all I'm happy to consider anything.

Located in St. Louis, I'll also be at VCF Midwest in September, and I'm happy to drive within reason to avoid potential shipping damage.

I have a PC6 (without a keyboard) I'd be willing to part with. Condition isn't great though, I purchased it off of eBay and it was dropped sometime during the shipping process (the front panel has some damage, and the case is bent). It's been some time since I last looked at it, but I believe there were a couple blown tantalum caps as well.

I'll be at Midwest as well, otherwise I'm in Wisconsin if you wanted to take a trip!

I can grab some photos of you're interested.

I am interested, some photos would be welcome. Thanks!

Yeah, shipping definitely did a number on that poor guy. Never ceases to amaze me what they put packages through.

Did you ever get to see it in working condition or were the caps blown when you got it?

Aside from the damage it looks exactly like I remember it, that orange power toggle, the light up green xt turbo button, and the pc speaker volume control dial.

What kind of price tag are you thinking for it? I will definitely be at VCF Midwest so if we can meet there we can save the hassle of packing and shipping and further potential damage.

I had bought a few things from this seller, everything else made it without damage, except for this one. Which really sucks, because I've had a fondness for the NCR stuff ever since I picked up one of their MCA machines.

The seller mentioned that it did power up before shipping, and I did confirm that it powered up (I didn't test with a monitor), but it blew shortly after. I haven't done anything with it since.

I paid $50 after a partial refund, if that works for you, it's yours.

I can absolutely bring it along when I head to Midwest. I'll have a table there, so I'll be there all weekend!

That sounds reasonable to me. Send me a DM and we can trade information and make arrangements.
