Looking for a near empty circuit trace pen. I really don't have the $20 for a new one, and all I need it for is 2 corroded traces (eat up by a leaking CMOS battery) on a Packard Bell motherboard that are only about 1cm long each.

If you have what I am looking for, message me.

Thanks!

Good luck... after you repair those two traces I'll bet you'll find there was way more damage than you originally detected. I know I've had that happen many times. :)

I hope not. I looked it over pretty good and didn't see any other damage, the acid didn't make it too far. These traces are literally right next to/under where the battery was. Hopefully I'm lucky... these boards are borderline impossible to find.

I've got a stack of boards that either show no damage or, after repairing the obviously damaged traces, are still dead! It seems that there's more to leaky battery damage than meets the eye, if you will. :) I think MikeS has had very similar experiences to mine with 386 and 486 boards with barrel batteries. Some of my best boards have fallen to batteryitis. :) I hope you get better results than I have gotten so far.
