Hello my son is very interested in Atmel AVR single board computers, but I fear the will be too complected for him. Does anyone have basic step by step educational projects they did to build an old Z80 based SBC(on some kind of bread board maybe), if not does anyone know of some good Atmel based SBC's?

Do you know of any AVR with simple VGA support, and or could you give me a link to Andrew Lynch's site or where he sells them!

I'm not overly familiar with the complete market and what's out there but I know there's the xgamestation and a few projects that he did to improve the easy of programming video and sound. The only catch is while he's big into saying it's easy and I'll give them credit, there are demos and code you can copy and paste to get video set up quickly, he's also the CEO and engineer so he wrote the x hundred page manual so of course it's easy and he whips stuff up in no time.

Hi! We have Z80 single board computer PCBs for you to build your own home brew computer. There are many builders on the mailing list and wiki. It sounds like you might be interested in the Z80 SBC V2 and PropIO combination for a basic Z80 computer with VGA display and PS/2 keyboard.

This is a very popular combination lately. Thanks and have a nice day!
