Western Europe A Platov IV terminal for sale in Belgium...

Covers: Germany, France, UK, Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Monaco and Liechtenstein
Hate to nitpick, but that is *not* *quite* a real Plato IV. That’s a CDC IST-2 terminal, which was sold in a Plato configuration. I mean, it’s still cool and all, but when I think Plato IV it’s all about the space-age plasma screen.

(Also, strictly speaking, it looks like the CDC terminal emulated a Plato V.)

Did you by any chance save the content of that link? I would love to contact the seller or try to find the buyer.

I'm so bummed that I only now discovered the existence of that ad.

I've been dreaming of this exact model of PLATO terminal since I used them in the late eighties - early ninities in college.
PLATO had a great influence on my life and my friendships.

If anyone has one of these terminals, still looking decent, and might want to sell, please message me :-)

(a Belgian who has fond memories of PLATO)

Also interesting is that the entire bitsavers.org/pdf/cdc/plato/ directory seems to be gone, with no obvious replacement. Perhaps @Al Kossow has a comment on what's going on with this? (I had to go get the material from archive.org.)

And yeah, I would be pretty darn tempted by one of those terminals, too. I am pretty sure that when I used an actual Plato system back in the day, it was on these, not the actual plasma screen terminals.

it did move... under cdc/terminal/IST (Information Systems Terminal) because they
were used for more than Plato
