Managed to land a "new" STacy. This one is in fine working condition except for some scuffs, but it only has a 1MB RAM card (for that matter, the STacy I murdered had only a 2MB card).

I'd like to run MiNT on this but it seems they need 4MB minimum, and Best Electronics claims to have one but isn't returning my messages, so I guess they don't really want my money. Was there any version of MiNT that could run in 1MB? I thought the very old versions could, though I've been unable to locate those with some cursory g**gling.

Maybe not MiNT; but you can try with MagiC, being so low on ram it could be the best option. It has a lower footprint than MiNT albeit some compatibility problems, if you're going to use a lot of not-GEM frienly software you'll get into troubles.

About MagiC, you can even save more RAM booting it from ROM, check http://atari4ever.free.fr/, section "TOS UPGRADES". Of course, I'm not familiarized with the STacy so I'm guessing you can swap the ROM it has...

I was hoping for the CLI options with MiNT, though. I have MacMiNT and that's rather fun (especially the "Just Enough TOS" layer) to play with perl and gcc on a command line that isn't A/UX, and I didn't see that in MagiC.
