Altos 586 with Xenix 2.5a running :)

Just thought it was cool this machine still works and so I thought I'd share it

Its an Altos 586 running Xenix 2.5a

I had some trouble getting on the system as it was set to tvi920 and well, I dont have that lying around but finally got there and changed tty2 to VT100 for later

So now to start using the multi-user functionality of this machine.

I have set tty2 to vt100, 9600 baud but I dont seem to be able to get any signs of live from tty2 ?
I am using the same cable as tty1/console so it should work, my breakout box also shows the same lights so well hmm, lost :S

Anyone any hints ? Do I need to enable tty2 somewhere perhaps ?

Logged in as root:

enable /dev/tty2

Something of that sort in the old Xenix days.

That command works but it was already enabled.

But I found it
The command you need to enter is "multiuser"

Didnt thought of that myself but found this : http://chiclassiccomp.org/docs/content/computing/Altos/Manuals/Altos_Xenix_QuickRef.pdf

Now I just need some more nullmodem cables/converters and then I connect it to my Moxa box and after that I need to think how I can savely make it accessable to some people on the internet
