Am in the process of clearing out the office and came across a working Commodore C386SX-LT. Runs windows 3.1. Can anyone give me info on this machine?

pictures would be helpful.

I don't know much but i'll make a guess: i would guess that this is a Commodore PC which has an 80386 CPU installed. According to this forum, your computer wouldn't be considered *vintage* but even so, old PCs can be fun to work with.

hey, keep it around, it's going to go vintage in a few years (amirite?)!

I think I know the system.
It's just a regular mini AT tower with stock parts in it and Commodore branding. It's nothing really special.

I'll get some pics up when I get back to work tomorrow. It's a laptop, not a desktop.

I just got ahold of a Commodore C286-LT, which is the little brother to your laptop. Take care of the power adapter, it is custom for the Commodore laptops. Without it, your LT would be worth almost zero.

Bo Zimmerman has some pics of the Commodore LT laptops:

By the way, what do you want to know? How to read your configuration, expansion options, hardware design, market value, rarity?

That is sweet! lol I didn't know Commodore did any laptops. (erm.. and yes I know the x86 line, just didn't realize they did a x86 laptop line or never noticed at least).

With due respect of stealing your thread, I wonder if special measures need to be taken to activate the external VGA on those laptops. I tried to plug in a monitor to the 286, but nothing happened. Whenever I get the time, I will look more closely into the setup parameters and perhaps search the Internet for some clues, but I would've thought it should pop up something on screen right away. At least some "signal out of sync" or likewise.
