So, I recently moved into a place where I put some of my systems on display on desk, and I would like to put my PET on it. It is a 12" 4032.

However, I *LOTHE* dusting more than any other house chore. Is there anyplace on can find a dust cover for it? It doesn't need to be fancy, and I would prefer a quilted or cloth one over plastic/vinyl so I could just toss it in the wash, and while I found them for VIC-20's through Amiga1200, I just can't find any for a pet. Even a plan to make my own would be something since my Google-fu is yielding the same two things after led by Henry the Red after his capture by King Arthur.

Back in the day (the 80's) I found a cloth cover that was designed for a 12" PET. The dealer had a couple of them but I don't know who or how they were made. It was a wise investment which has helped keep the SuperPET relatively clean over the years.

Hi Robert,

I had the same concern as you (wanted a dust cover), and hit the same wall as you (couldn't find a vendor or plan online). What I did was make a two piece cover. One section, 3 pieces of thin vinyl connected using two long stitches covers the monitor. Then another 3 pieces with two long stitches covers the keyboard area and lower body.

For the monitor: One bigger piece to cover the front, top, and drape down the back. Then two small pieces to cover each side. These were stitched to connect the front to the sides, and the top to the sides. I did not stitch the part that hangs over the back.
For the lower body: One bigger piece which covers the keyboard area, comes above the badge, and is cut into a U shape to fit around the monitor neck. Then two small pieces for each side. Stitching was the same as the monitor cover. You could elongate the main body cover to drape down in front, or stitch a separate piece there too. I didn't.

Sorry I do not have measurements, but hopefully you can get the idea of where I measured.

Yea, but to paraphrase the greatest medical officer in history, "Damnit Jim, I'm a programmer not a seamstress".

I know I could make one myself with enough time and patience (both of which I am short on as I am still unpacking in my new place).

And measuring it out wouldn't be that hard. I have tape measures and the PET available, just measuring heights and putting it to paper would be easy, I was just wondering if anyone else had done this already and was profiting off of their endeavors so I could be a living Futurama meme.

But it looks like I will need to follow your example and go the homemade route. Thanks for th input none the less, it does kinda confirm what I thought.
