My name is Andrea Cane and I'm an italian collector of vintage computers
I got from Germany a Compucorp 645 with two 160k disk drives,
monitor and printer (a Diablo 1640 Hy term) in perfect condition and working order. With the computer I got the manual of the Extended Basic 5.00, of the ZEBRA monitor and a letter dated 16 October 79 written from Electronic Buro Maschinen KG Fritsches & CO to the customer.
I'm looking for a copy of Compucorp 645 system diskette with OS ZEBRA. Without the computer is almost unusable.

It would be nice to get them running again
Any help will be appreciate.

Thank you
Andrea Cane

Hello Andrea,

My name is Anders and I live in Sweden where I am starting up a retro computer museum. I know I am late to the party but... :)

I recently got a massive amount of old computers from an estate that almost threw them in the recycling. Among those are a few CompuCorp 655 computers which is from the 600 series so they may be fairly similar.

I think that we may be able to help each other out as I am looking for the manual for the Zebra operating system. I have gotten one of the 655's working but am "flying blind" as I dont have the manual for the Zebra Monitor OS.
My model are using DD diskettes with 16 hard sectors but among the disks I have there are also some SD diskettes with 16 hard sectors and they may well work for the 645 too.

Let me know if there is a way for you to scan the manual or if you need help with that please let me know and I can assist as I have tools for just that!

I will gladly send you some of the 160k diskettes for you to try out as well!

Regards,
Anders Jensen

A quick update...

I just sorted out the other CompuCorp 655 and that one actually had the SD diskette drives and controller so I could probably copy some of the diskettes if I get access to the Zebra OS manual.

Regards,
Anders
