Could anybody explain differences between Mera (CDC) 9425 and Mera 9450?

Mera 9425 is a 14" disk drives made in Poland (under license from CDC).
It was DEC RK05 compatible.
Could anybody explain difference Mera 9425 vs Mera 9450?

It isn't strictly RK05 compatible, since it uses IBM 5440 style media instead of 2315

I don't know much about the 9450 but I see the bcs ccs has a technical manual from ICL

I am not sure that Mera 9450 is a CDC 9450. May be it is 9425 with some modification by Mera company.

9425 is not a CDC Hawk (according http://www.mirrorservice.org/sites/www.bitsavers.org/pdf/cdc/discs/CDC_Drive_Models.txt). As I know only 9427H was called Hawk. But I am not sure.

In East block countries 14" disk drives usually work with cartridges EC5269 (Izot5269E) by Izot company (Bulgaria). According the manual (sorry, I have only russian version) it is compatible with IBM 5440, IBM 2315, Basf 641, Nashua 4440.

Ha, I remember these, I was a kid and my mum used to work on those computers. Unfortunately I can't help you with this, I was too young and shocked that those computers were like 50 times bigger than my C128:D
