I got a PS/2 55SX (1988 BIOS) with one of these installed and the system would not post. Turns out these are only compatible with 1991 and later 386SX-16 or -20 boards so it will not work on a 1988 386SX-16. As far as functionality, all I know is that when it was installed it put off heat like it was working. I will include the original green heat sink that this came with but you will need new tape.
As to price, I do not exactly know what this is worth. I know this is fairly rare. Judging from eBay listings for similar types of items I am guessing the $100-200 range but you tell me what it is worth to you. More worried about this going to a good home than how much I get for it.
