Anyone else running one or two of these? I was wondering if I am the only DG/UX guy out there. :)

I have 2 machines a 5500 and a 530 (I upgraded it with color video so that might make it a 4600 now or it was a 4600 and now its a 530 DG was so confusing with that machines numbers)

I had an 8500+ but it was to big and I had to let it go. I do still have some cards and parts from that series though if anyone else is in need. I think I may still have a spare boot tape. Only 1 set of CDs though.

I have two. One 310CD and a 450H.

Ah. Yes. The 310. Pizza box type. If I remember they are flat with a hump on the back with the i/o ports. I may have a few sticks of ram for those.

Is the 450 a pizza box also?

You remember correctly.

The 450 is a slightly smaller pizza box, but newer, flat, and with internal drives.

So I was the second highest bidder, so I basically set the price. But I was auto-outbid even at the very end. So someone had a much higher first bid.

DG/UX M88K machines don't come around very often. And I worked on a much bigger Aviion machine back in the mid-90s. So it was partly nostalgia. My biggest concern was the lack of on-line resources for DG/UX media. Even with the bid I made, I kinda resigned my hopes to just putting it on a shelf and not being able to use it. But I'm hoping I'm wrong and someone has images of the original 4.x or 5.x media and can get these unique systems running.

Apparently the seller had a second machine with less memory. Was able to pick it up though it hasn't arrived yet.

So I'll make a formal request... does anyone have install media/images for M88K DG/UX? This machine is also a 300 series. Since it doesn't appear to have internal disks, I'm assuming I'd need to connect both a SCSI CD-ROM and Disk to it. I'm also assuming there is a 9600 baud boot monitor on the first serial port.

Anyone have documentation links beyond that for the monitor, machine, or DG/UX install?

Ok now there is apparently a 3rd machine listed with a buy-now. I had a similar scenario a few months back where the first bidder of a >$1K auction 'backed-out' and the seller offered the item to me at the winning price. Instead I offered the split difference between my 2nd highest max bid and the 3rd highest and he accepted. I looked up the seller and it's the same one. I'm starting to smell a stench coming from this sterling-enterprises seller. Buyers beware.
