DEC Transceivers

I found a bunch of random networking and SCSI equipment from (I think) DEC systems. Various transceivers - twisted pair to 10/base T; AUI to 10baseT and a combination of all three of those standards. Also At least two HP Deskjet cards that may actually just be general SCSI cards, and at least two of what I think are Digital networking cards.

I'm not sure how much will be there when I go back tomorrow (when it's 50% off) but I want to put out a general feeler because I don't want it all regardless; I don't have any DEC or HP systems.

*I could be wrong; the *Scanjet cards are ISA.

Some of that stuff was strange. My pdp11/34 has a Unibus card that (as best I can tell) goes to AUI, which then connects to a small panel that converts to 10 base T. I haven't gotten to test it yet because the friend that I was getting a rack from bought a new business and hasn't been around much. But I hope to get back to it soon.

Nevertheless, I'd be interested in seeing pictures of your haul.

The DEC transceivers (branded Digital) - actually there were 2 types; 2 of 1 and 1 of the other. 1 was standard twisted pair to 10-baseT. One was AUI (or twisted pair; sorry I'm starting to fade) on one end and then a proprietary 10baseT connector on the other that requires a special cable that goes from their like offset-version of the cable to a standard one. There were actually three of those but only two have the cable.

I didn't mean to imply I'm seeking a profit on any of this. Assuming it's all still there, all the transceivers were $2. I forget if it's 25 or 50% off but that'd be $1.50 or $1 per transceiver. I also don't imagine they're Digital-specific. I have an SE with an AUI output, but I'm not sure I can test it on account of I'm not sure I've ever gotten the network card software to work.

But I have my last final tomorrow so I'll have lots of time to deal with this tomorrow afternoon. I think we're only talking about the equivalent of like $20-25 so I'll just grab whatever's still there - and I'll post some pics. [Actually I can test them. I can use MacTCP Ping; I just always get weird errors when trying to fetch pages.]

I'll post pictures shortly. I think I was just wrong on it being at all related to DEC computers. I think all the cards were ISA, so I didn't get any of them. There are two twisted pair to 10baseT [I have no idea what they're called; the only possible product number is DEC 83/7/903A and the only hit I get on that is this... (http://mit-a.com/ViewAcquisition.asp?pageVer=&AcqId=68) - one has the proprietary 10baseT cable (http://www.pacificcable.com/Picture_Page.asp?DataName=BC16U) and one does not. Two Synoptics 508B AUI to 10baseT transceivers.

And then one SCSI cable - Centronics to DB25 (both male) with a female DB25 passthrough on the back of the CN50 connector. Also two SCSI 1 to SCSI 2 (male HPDB50 to female CN50) adapters, and probably (but I'm not certain yet) a cable: also male HPDB50 but to male CN50.

At that price, grab all of the tranceivers/converters they have! If no one else here needs them, I'd be interested in them.
