Just curious if I could temporarily swap my Decmate II over to the Rainbow to see that it does indeed work. The Rainbow works fine. Unless there is something wrong with the mainboard on the Decmate that could damage something on the Rainbow.

Ok, by swapping chassis I get the Decmate to display Decmate II on the screen. Inserting a floppy attempts to read it (or seems like it as it make normal floppy noises). Tried a system test diskette first and all it does is display a picture of a floppy then clear the screen. Some floppy head movement noises and displays the floppy picture again. Over and over. No error messages or number. Not sure if it's really testing or not. So tried an Adventure floppy. Same thing. Kind of expected it to be loading the game and then to display the normal text. Nope, just the floppy picture over and over. Is this normal? Maybe I have forgotten how slow a floppy takes to read a big file? Any thoughts? Yes, I plugged the floppy into the front most floppy slot.

From the Decmate owners manual I see this mean the floppy is probably not bootable or there was a problem reading it. Not sure if i have a valid bootable floppy.
