Hi all,
recently I ran into a problem when trying to use a floppy drive in a Tektronix Audio Analyzer that had to be "DOS formatted".
I tried to DOS-format a floppy many times on my OSX with the USB floppy and it failed, the Tek did not even see the floppy. Finally I tried out my old 3400c laptop running MacOS8 and this time the floppy was accepted by the Tek (and by OSX, too)!
Apparently there is a difference in DOS-formatting a floppy on MacOS8 and MacOSX. My guess is it has something to do with partitions that are created by OSX. That never bothered other instruments and PCs before, though.
Anyone knows if there are subtle differences in PC-formatting between Mac OSs, and if there is a way to make the OSX format a floppy like OS8?
Thanks,
Martin
