  • From now on we will require that a prefix is set for any items in the sales area. We have created regions and locations for this. We also require that you select a delivery option before posting your listing. This will hopefully help us streamline the things that get listed for sales here and help local people better advertise their items, especially for local only sales. New sales rules are also coming, so stay tuned.

For Sale: spotted on Craigslist (continuous sightings)

i get so many people try to sell me things st higher than normal pricing by talking about how "clicky" the keyboard is... whoopee

a.k.a opportunists ruining vintage computing.....absolutely grinds my gears.

jeez I remember when low capacity hard drives could be had for ~$5

What gets me (really the major thing) is when things are broken, dirty, and untested and they still want a high price. Its like "nope keep it!" I know to avoid you now!

Totally agree. There's one of these "junk dealers" relatively close to me. I very kindly explained to them that because the item is untested, I can't pay top dollar. But they can't seem to hear what I'm saying. Hindsight being 20/20 I realize now I should have just drove a hard bargain with them, that's something they can understand. But as you mention, avoiding them became the best option.

if there was a decent way to get back here to Michigan and not break the bank, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Oh, okay. I knew a fellow who had a garage full of empty Mrs. Butterowrth's syrup bottles...

Kind of sticky typing on the syrup bottles. Well, how about yourself, you've got a basement full don't you?. That 2000 is no different than all of the other ancient stuff that I've got scattered around.

I try not to--my interest is mostly for business reasons, so my "collection" is for use. I'll offer stuff that's easy to package up for sale, but the big stuff just gets carted off to the e-cycler if I have no use for it.
It's decent question, however. As my relationship with my oncologist deepens, I really should be taking a much shorter view of things...

I'm very sorry to learn you are unwell. You have my best wishes and I hope that things go well for you with your treatments. Kind regards, Hugo.

Hopefully it's something that can be arrested with today's technology. Best wishes and take care.

Thanks for the kind words, guys. Basically, I feel fine and my white-coated guys tell me that it's treatable. Life will be a bit more complicated for the next year or so. I'm also thinking that I should really take time to go fishing or something when this is all done.
