  • From now on we will require that a prefix is set for any items in the sales area. We have created regions and locations for this. We also require that you select a delivery option before posting your listing. This will hopefully help us streamline the things that get listed for sales here and help local people better advertise their items, especially for local only sales. New sales rules are also coming, so stay tuned.

For Sale: spotted on Craigslist (continuous sightings)

I'll drop him a note--there's been no interest on this. He says that the monitor just doesn't come on--it all worked up until a couple years ago. I suspect capacitors.

If I snabbed it and repaired the monitor, do you think someone on this forum would take it off my hands?

Um if someone wants to snag that Altair I'd take it off their hands ;-) Dunno Chuck, seen a few 6300s go seemingly unnoticed but they're sturdy little systems. They seem like great little dos boxes.

Yeah, but it's not unusual enough for me to hang on to (I don't lack for DOS boxes) and if unclaimed would probably wind up in the recycling stream. That's why I'm asking now.

Last call--anyone want the 6300 (with printer)? The seller just sold the manuals for $20 (could have been yours)?

Otherwise, I'll tell him to take it to the recycler.

I sent that CL link to someone on the forum who owns one so I think he sold it to him.
i wish i could get that machine :( but I do already have 2 boxes in a short amount of space. i don't need anymore projects lol

Nope, I picked the system up (for free) myself after the seller notified me that there was no interest. So it's sitting in my shop right now. A nice system--included manuals, software and a 80MB hardcard as well as an AT&T daisywheel printer.

One could also point out it looks like you already have a buyer for it as well on cctalk, long as they follow through in a few months. Good save though. Honestly they're such nice sturdy systems.

Yeah. I wanted to make sure that there was at least a little interest before I went to save it. The guy with that and the Kaypro and Atari stuff had to make room for a new member of his household.

Sweet, what system? j/k

To drag us back to semi-on-topic here's something interesting for a hardcore gamer (well ok this isn't vintage but c'mon this would be cool):
Amarillo, TX Gaming feedback vest $75
Austin, TX Novint Falcon With pistal Grib Gaming Mouse - $100

There. For $175 and then find a gaming chair with speakers and bass vibration and you will absolutely be emerged in your gaming environment.

Also, free heads up for "vintageAES" but they've had an AES Plus on the marketplace for a while now. Looks like a lower price. Catch is pickup only in the GTA.
AES Plus machine starting bid is $33(CAD..is that the correct abbreviation for Canadian Dollar?)

Boy, I'm envious of y'all on the left coast. Not much interesting ever shows up on the DC/Baltimore area Craigslists...primarily 2-4 generation back PCs/Macs, with the very occasional Ultra 5/10. I've given up looking for any 8 bit equipment, there.

In the NY metro area there are not that many items and they usually have a high price. In NJ and CT however stuff seems to pop up more regularly. But I am not in a position to buy stuff at this point nor do I have an interest in anything but PCs. Plus the drive from LI is really a pain (especially with an unreliable car). :(

I've found using the state search type engines that sometimes when you're bored search for other terms to get better results. Try searching based on manufacturer and you'll get hits other than my usual search which is just "vintage" in the computer & tech section. Also sometimes folks don't know where to put things so you end up finding a computer under collectibles or something else of interest under electronics or video games, etc. Although yes lots of too high priced items and items nowhere close or not worth the gas to get show up all over the place.

I search on a lot of terms: vintage, retro, classic, 286, 486, 386, IBM, Tandy, Commodore, Apple, diskettes, Roland, Sound Blaster, ValuePoint, PS/2, 5150, 5160 and so on. That works but as you say: high prices, far away, no shipping, no response et cetera.
