Ughh.. misuse of the word rare..

I had a legal box full of early atari computer mags a year or two back. First i tried selling.. then I offered free.. then i just gave the box away at a vcf swapmeet. I just didnt want to throw them out

Heartily sorry that I could not hook up with anyone who might have wanted these. I waited and waited and got no response so I turned to eBay. Turns out they went to some Canadian guy who was much less appreciative than you all are. Oh, and the use of "RARE" was eBay's marketing -- not mine.

At present, I have a pile of MS-DOS software THAT I AM GIVING AWAY for shipping and will list that shortly.

Again, my apologies.
 
No, not directly. What you saw was one of their subsequent "marketing" efforts that was generated by God knows whom. They will often do such things to stir traffic. For example, if you click on some items common in nature, you sill get subsequent emails offering similar items that hype similar auctions to what you were looking at.

In fact, in revisiting this thread, this is the first time I saw this and a lot of the additional comments in re my offering.
