Looks like we'll be moving up to Troy, NY some time in early June. We're planning on hitching a 6x12' U-Haul trailer to my Ford Ranger and hauling everything ourselves, since it's a lot cheaper. Unfortunately, it's also a lot cheaper to return the trailer where we pick it up -- cheap enough to more than cover the gas for the return trip. So, I had an idea:

If you live along the route between Troy, NY and Blacksburg, VA, I can transport heavy items southbound for a highly competitive rate (smaller items northbound...the truck/trailer will mostly be full going north though). Since one of the biggest obstacles in getting vintage equipment from point A to B is the high cost of shipping large, heavy objects, I thought it might be helpful for people around here. Pick-up/drop-off points slightly off the route (say, no more than 15-20 minutes) would be fine. I'll post with more information as to dates and times if people are interested.
 
Just an update, we'll be heading out from Beckley, WV with the trailer around 7:00 PM EST tomorrow. We'll be packing in Blacksburg, and leaving sometime Friday afternoon for the Baltimore, MD area. We'll be traveling US-460 to I-81 to I-64 to I-95 to get to White Marsh, MD. From there, we're going with family to see a World War II air show in Reading, PA via I-95 and PA-10 (this route subject to change). We'll be leaving there Sunday, headed straight for Troy, NY via I-76 to I-78 to I-87.
