Heathkit H89A Question

When posting scope pictures please state the sweep and voltage scales. Is this an analog or digital scope? The "noise" pictures could be aliasing is on a digital scope( wrong sweep frequency for the signals being looked at ).
I've been too busy to follow this but Daver is a very good debugger.
Do remember, debugging remotely is difficult thing to do. It depends on the person doing exactly what is requested and replying to exactly what is requested. Things like if the voltage measurement is request with answers like "it was good" are problems that make it difficult for the person helping with the debug. Good is not a voltage.
Thanks
Dwight
Thanks for the info, Dwight. I'm learning a lot working with Dave.

FYI, I fired up my H89A from VCFSE and it seems to boot fine. I have not tried the separate floppy unit. If I can be of any assistance with any measurements from mine, let me know.

And I absolutely love reading along as Daver and Dwight remotely solve these problems. They helped me do the same with my PET a couple of years ago.

Hi Mr. Dokken. Thanks for your response. If it's not too much trouble, could you give me a few readings from the chip U430? I'm looking at either pulses or voltages from pin 27, pin 17, pin 24, pin 26, pin 22, pin 16, and pin 20. This would go a long way in trying get this chip working. Thanks for any help you can give me.

I'll be glad to try and help. I'll try to get to it in the next few days!

Thanks very much. Take your time. I appreciate your willingness to help. Maybe I can get to the root of this problem.

sorry Jimbo for not getting back to you on this sooner. I now have my Heathikit pulled apart and have been attempting to get a Gotek working. Not sure if it's possible as I have the hard sector controller in my system and I have no disks. I'll try to get your requested readings today.
