So yesterday, my Dad brought me home a Compaq Prosignia 300 that a friend gave him. Has a Pentium 90, 16MB of ram, 2GB HD, stuff like that. Came with 98 installed. Being the honest person I am, I wiped the drive to reinstall 98. Here's where the problem lies. This particular server grade Compaq has a SCSI hard drive and CD drive, and the regular Windows 98 boot disk will not recognize the CD drive to continue the installation. I have already installed a new external CMOS battery and used the configuration disks to set the computer up... still no luck. What am I missing here? I've never dealt with SCSI PCs... only IDE.

You'll need the ASPI driver for the SCSI card (you didn't specify what it was) as well as the ASPI-to-CD driver when you boot the system.

More details on what's in the box will help tremedously.
